Piano tuning and repairs

I am a qualified piano tuner and technician, who obtained my diploma in piano tuning and repair from Newark College - Europe's leading piano engineering school.
I am also a trained musician, with a BMus degree in Music from The University of Wales, Bangor, and an MMus degree in Music Composition from Huddersfield University. It was whilst studying for his degrees that I began to develop a love of abstract sound, and music focused upon sonic effects. It was here that I began inadvertently honing his ear to listen to sound in the way required to tune pianos. I began training to become a piano tuner shortly after completing his degree.

I have a particular love for the uniquely beautiful sound of the piano, and am therefore passionate about, and dedicated to, making each piano that I tune sound its very best.
A piano that is regularly tuned every six months, will usually require a fine tune. The price for this is £55.

If a piano has not been tuned for a while, then it's likely that it will have slipped significantly out of tune. In this case it will require a pitch raise (a rough tune in addition to the fine tune) in order to bring it up to concert pitch. A pitch raise costs £80. There are very rare occasions when the piano is extremely out of tune and needs two rough tunes before the fine tune, in which case the cost is £100.

I offer a £5 discount on the first tuning for new customers - just mention this advertisement.

I charge a minimum call-out fee of £25. This is what I will charge if I arrive at an appointment and nobody's home, so do always remember to note our appointments down in your diary. I will always wait for twenty minutes after the appointment time to give a customer time to arrive in case they're running late. If you suspect that you'll be later than that, then please call me to let me know as far in advance as.
